EPA Funds

Proposition 30 provides that all K - 12 local agencies have the authority to determine how funds received from the Education Protection Act (EPA) are spent, with the following provisions:

  • The governing board must approve the spending plan during a public meeting
  • Schools may not use EPA funds for the salaries or benefits of administrators or any other administrative costs
  • Schools must publish and make available to the public an accounting of monies received and funds spent
